About Me

Hi, my name is Kevin, and I am an elementary school teacher. When I’m not teaching, I’m a real estate investor, stock investor, private lender, and blogger for Money Life Lessons. However, my most important and rewarding job is being a father to 3 beautiful girls.

I am by no means a financial guru, but I know more than some and less than others when it comes to financial literacy. Hopefully, I can improve your mindset and thinking around money and budgeting. This blog should help to facilitate healthy discussions around finances between your friends and family.

I am sure you have heard the saying that knowledge is power. I could have avoided some investing mistakes in my past had I been more knowledgeable and familiar with different financial instruments. That being said, it’s also never too late to start learning about financial strategies that can improve your quality of life.

Mission

The mission of this site is to provide Canadian financial information and resources. I hope that students will be able to use this blog to make more informed decisions around their finances, at different stages of their lifes. The information provided in this blog ranges from beginner to more advanced topics. This could be as simple as opening a chequing and savings account and creating a budget to more complex topics such as investing in TFSAs, real estate, or private lending. I am sure that you will find some useful information, regardless of what stage your at in life.

Having a good understanding of financial literacy in your early years as a teen and young adult, can set you up for financial success in the future and lower your stress and anxiety around finances. Living pay cheque to pay cheque is not fun.
